We are doing internal testing of our next release iso. All being well, we will have it out before the end of August! This iso will incorporate all the work we have done over the last 5 months: #AerynOS #Linux #DistroDevelopment #Rust

AerynOS - AerynOS Repo sync: 14th August 2025 Another week with significant updates. Find details on our GitHub Discussions forum. github.com/orgs/AerynOS/d… #AerynOS #Linux #DistroDevelopment

Overall we are building a really strong foundation upon which we can further develop from. Looking forward to when we can get this iso in your hands and on your devices! #AerynOS #Linux #DistroDevelopment #Rust

- Completed transition of tooling to rust - Move to package set model - Use of CDN to accelerate our repository and add a layer of redundancy - Improved installer workflow (though still require preformatting of disk) #AerynOS #Linux #DistroDevelopment #Rust

This take makes sense IF you have a decent / livable $$$$ amount of motion already. If you’re just starting out or trying to get to the next level this distro is absolutely IS worth a shot to see where their tools can take you. It’s not like you’re signing/locked down either…

an 85/15 split to press “upload” is madness major labels take 15% distro off the top too so it seems like they just modeled the business off of that if you’re an artist, this makes no sense to sign up for imo

this is a derived distro, a set of packages running on top of the existing arch codebase. not a different codebase derived from the arch linux one

Ty! I CTO’d at the bottom and believe distro is extremely good and organic but welcome any contrary evidence

speed + distribution = winning combo. having someone handle distro while u build is underrated. most devs try to do everything themselves and fail

In case anyone here is interested in BSD style Monorepo Linux distros There's a new project looking for contributors. github.com/openlinux-src/… The idea i assume it to ship a linux system in a "single package" similar to how OpenBSD is shipped.

EVERYBODY AIN'T RUSS! AND MOST UNKNOWNS WILL REMAIN THAT WAY. THEY ARE OFFERING DISTRO FOR NO UPFRONT COST, TO ME THAT IS SOLID. BOTTOM LINE DO WHAT WORKS FOR YOU!

people saying I’m hating for educating the public on a bad deal. transparency is praised until transparency threatens your fantasies. a bad deal is a bad deal regardless who offers it. evaluate the terms, don’t just blindly react to a brand stamp and forget how to do math. logos…

Creators!!! 85/15 Distro Deal. If you finance, your own Creation & Don't take advances? This is worth looking into🌞 x.com/i/trending/199…

It’s Almost Here. 11.17.25 @RocNationDistro

once you nail distro flow, even a micro use case can snowball into serious onchain traction

Guys I made my own distro it's called Moeware and it's just my dotfiles on a vanilla Slackware install but I put it on a live cd so now I can call it a distro. (It's still closer to a distro than omarchy)

The journey from “a couple of scripts for my machine” to distro is so long x.com/_winter_wonder…

sidenote running omarchy in a vm is a nightmare i know this is somewhat the same for all wayland DE's and esp for hyprland but omarchy is far more annoying bc istg getting meta to read in kvm is impossible had to boot into rescue mode and edit the dots before i could actually…
