This take makes sense IF you have a decent / livable $$$$ amount of motion already. If you’re just starting out or trying to get to the next level this distro is absolutely IS worth a shot to see where their tools can take you. It’s not like you’re signing/locked down either…
an 85/15 split to press “upload” is madness major labels take 15% distro off the top too so it seems like they just modeled the business off of that if you’re an artist, this makes no sense to sign up for imo
this is a derived distro, a set of packages running on top of the existing arch codebase. not a different codebase derived from the arch linux one
Ty! I CTO’d at the bottom and believe distro is extremely good and organic but welcome any contrary evidence
speed + distribution = winning combo. having someone handle distro while u build is underrated. most devs try to do everything themselves and fail

Guys I made my own distro it's called Moeware and it's just my dotfiles on a vanilla Slackware install but I put it on a live cd so now I can call it a distro. (It's still closer to a distro than omarchy)
The journey from “a couple of scripts for my machine” to distro is so long x.com/_winter_wonder…
sidenote running omarchy in a vm is a nightmare i know this is somewhat the same for all wayland DE's and esp for hyprland but omarchy is far more annoying bc istg getting meta to read in kvm is impossible had to boot into rescue mode and edit the dots before i could actually…
