#DoctorWho Spicy Take #181: Classic DW doesn’t need VFX updates. The old effects are charming and it’s interesting from a historical perspective to see how they were able to create them with such limited technology available. Plus, the new effects are sometimes actually worse.

this is probably an unpopular opinion but I'm still really excited to see Billie back in Doctor Who.. yes it's a nostalgia thing, yes she may not be in it much.. but I have always loved Billie Piper, she's an amazing actor and to see her back in WHO is exciting!! #DoctorWho

quite weak. It feels very rushed, with the Doctor using the painting as a trap to send the hunter alien ghost back to its home planet. It all wraps up too quickly to feel satisfying. #DoctorWho
stories, with moonlight setting the alien hunter ‘ghost’ from the painting similar to Mr Ring-A-Ding in Lux, and the painting being like a sort of doorway to another planet reminiscent of The Day Of The Doctor. Although I did enjoy the story, the conclusion is #DoctorWho
‘ghost’ back into a trap. The story is a little basic. It’s an enjoyable spooky tale, but its short length means there’s not much time for character development and it goes at a relentlessly fast pace. There’s also some very evident similarities to other Doctor Who #DoctorWho
