RCM have enjoyed learning about keeping safe online this week. We created avatars and # tags and learned a new song. #EllisonComputing
This week is online safety week and the children have created avatars and online safety # tags. Here are some of their wonderful creations. #Ellisoncomputing
Year 5 were very interested in learning all about 'Safer Internet Day 2022' from West Midlands Regional Cyber Crime Unit. We learnt all about how to make our passwords as safe as possible by using 3 small words, a number and a symbol. #ellisoncomputing #SaferInternetDay
Today Year 2 took part in a coding lesson. We were able to control motion by specifying the number of steps to travel, direct and turn our Beebots. We also used our iPad Beebot application and took it in turns to move the Beebot around different settings. #Ellisoncomputing
This week in Computing, Year 2 learnt how to create an algorithm and how to debug it (by finding errors in a program that need to be changed so it works correctly). We started by using Turtle Academy and then moved onto Scratch. We had a lot of fun! #Ellisoncomputing
What a fantastic morning! Key Stage 2 took part in a live online safety assembly for Be Internet Legends; we were even joined by our local MP Aaron Bell. The children really enjoyed interacting with the presenters and are now internet legends!#Ellisoncomputing
Year 5 have enjoyed participating in the @GoogleUK #BeInternetLegends live assembly today and finding out about the 5 pledges to stay safe online #EllisonCommunity #EllisonComputing
Today, Year 4 performed their online safety assembly, where they shared important messages about how to stay safe online. #EllisonComputing #BeSmartWithAHeart #EllisonCommunity
Year 4 are really enjoying their ‘Eco Coding Adventure’ today. They are exploring creating algorithms and trying out debugging whilst learning how computing can help to save the planet! #EcoCodingAdventure #GetwiththeProgram #EllisonComputing #EllisonCommunity
An amazing opportunity for our children to learn to code; Raspberry Pi are currently offering free programmes for children to learn how to code. Follow the link, have fun and don't forget to share your pictures with us! #Ellisoncomputing raspberrypi.org/learn/
Today in Year 4, our children took part in an eco coding adventure with getwiththeprogram.org.uk . They discussed the 4 R's (Refuse, Reduce, Re-use, Recycle) and then used an algorithm to create steps for a robot to follow, de-bugging if they needed to adapt it. #ellisoncomputing
This week is online safety week, please have a look at these 8 tips for keeping your children safe online during lockdown: net-aware.org.uk/news/8-tips-fo… #Ellisoncomputing
