This is not just an accommodation issue. We need to start focusing on this as a children’s rights issue. Maria @PEIN_Ire on the need for a child’s rights lens on the issues but also the solutions developed in responding to needs of families in Direct Provision. #EndDPConference

Maria O’Dwyer @PEIN_Ire adds that best practice is when you can respond to the needs of children and families in a humanitarian way. IPAS network in Limerick is an example of this- bringing together resources but also expertise. #EndDPConference

Suzanne Connolly CEO @Barnardos_IRL emphasises the need for a focus on the trauma children and families living in very difficult situations. Children & parents are hyper vigilant - and they can carry that worry, that concern, that anxiety with them every day. #EndDPConference
