1/6 This weekend we gathered in #FoniBwiam to mark #FGMZTD, a powerful moment of reflection, solidarity and commitment to #EndFGM. Over 200 people across the Foni region and together, they spoke openly about the harm caused by #FGM and the urgent need to stop it.
Ending #FGM involves empowering girls to realise their rights by providing access to healthcare, education and opportunities. Progress is being made: the prevalence of FGM in #Kenya has declined from 38% in 1998 to 15% in 2022 (KDHS, 2022). Let us keep the momentum to #EndFGM.
