at the discharge (i’ll just see sticky discharge or globs and know what phase it is) or you can touch it or insert your fingers to take some mucus out. you want to rub it and pull it between your thumb and index finger to determine the consistency. honestly, i just look at it
but this method aligns well for me as well. the discharge throughout your cycle changes and it aligns with what your body is preparing for or what stage of the cycle you are in. you check the color and consistency of your discharge to see what part of the cycle you’re in.
