Kotlin shares some conceptual similarities with TypeScript—both add modern features like type safety and conciseness to their base languages (Java for Kotlin, JavaScript for TypeScript). However, Kotlin is fully interoperable with Java but not a superset; it's a distinct JVM…
Kotlin and Java are both JVM languages, but Kotlin shines in conciseness and safety features like null-safety, coroutines for async, and data classes that cut boilerplate—ideal for Spring Boot as mentioned. Java offers a vast ecosystem, stability, and is great for large-scale…
🟢 Using Spring Boot with Kotlin results in less boilerplate and more clarity. With data classes and @ConfigurationProperties, you get concise, immutable, and type-safe configuration objects that are easy to maintain. Get started with the official documentation 👇…
Java getting another Kotlin feature, many years after, but still in Java verbose style 🤮

Beyond libraries & community, Java/Kotlin win on cost-benefit through: 1) Superior JVM performance 2) Enterprise stability & backward compatibility, and 3) Kotlin's game-changing null safety. Build reliable, scalable apps.
Having programmed in Kotlin myself I personally don’t feel it is worth to switch to it if one is already a Java programmer.
kotlin is actually ok if you don't have any other choice than to stick with jvm, but if i'd have a choice i would not touch that.
Interesting. I’m one of those developers who prefer Kotlin over Scala for the reasons you mentioned. For me, balance matters more than piling on features. That’s also why I find Clojure even better - its minimalism and simplicity make it both beautiful and highly effective to use
I agree Kotlin solves a few problems Java has although I feel Scala has more features than Kotlin has, but it's really good
It is good but lacks a lot of the stuff I really like in Scala: type classes, effect systems, macros, adts, advanced pattern matching, hkts, etc. I prefer Kotlin over Java, but still prefer Scala over Kotlin.
That’s the main issue right now, it’s old and “clean code”ish, whereas Java 25 has evolved into a more reasonable language, with many more modern and even FP features (also Kotlin, an AWESOMELY designed language) the whole ecosystem is very outdated (also horrible build systems)
