Returning for 2023, Bands in the Park was a series of free-to-attend concerts held across the district part of #KYOM23. Over 14,000 people witnessed live music across 10 different locations including in Dewsbury, Huddersfield, Heckmondwike and Batley. youtube.com/watch?v=WKbfbW…

HERD came to Kirklees last summer devised by composer Orlando Gough and produced by @artichoketrust for #KYOM23. Moving from the boundaries of Kirklees as they were herded towards towns on road and canal. An epic tale of wool and water, movement and sound, industry and labour.

The spectacular, Beowulf created for #KYOM23 by @ProperJobTheatr, brought monsters, warriors and dragons to Huddersfield. With an adaption by poets and music by Leighton Jones and Supriya Nagarajan, this ambitious piece brought people together from across Kirkleess and beyond.

As part of #KYOM23 in August 2023 Prince Reimagined took to the stage of @theLBT led by Hardeep Sahota. This remarkable project united a diverse lineup of world-class musicians who infused Prince’s iconic songs with Bhangra, pop, Gospel, Rock, Soul, Reggae, and Folk.

Rachel Modest – Singer – Rachel was seen on stage as part of Prince Reimagined at @theLBT in August, bringing a fresh new take on Prince's iconic music especially for #KYOM23. Rachel was also a judge and arranger of the shortlisted compositions for Songs for the Season. #IWD2024

Lauren Mikki - Singer/Songwriter – Since performing at the #KYOM23 Music Industry event, Platform, Lauren has gone from strength to strength releasing new music and performing at festivals, as well as being on BBC Introducing with a live session from their studio. #IWD2024

@satnamvocalist – Vocalist – As well as lending her musical talents to many performances throughout #KYOM23, Satnam was part of the Health and Wellbeing programme with @HootMusic. She led workshops exploring how music can play an important role in the life of everyone. #IWD2024

@rubywoodmusic – Singer and Writer – Ruby is well known for her memorable vocals and was seen as part of #KYOM23 in the HERD finale, as well as featuring on the @_town_sounds_ Podcast which takes a look at the heritage and contemporary music scene in the district. #IWD2024

Beth Holloway - music producer, composer, singer, songwriter, DJ and events curator. Beth has been spinning the decks at many events during #KYOM23 and also supported @YYandMusic as a facilitator of their Music of Tomorrow programme. #InspireInclusion #IWD2024
