A fab first meet up for our brand new computing club! Today we created a jamboard of places and landmarks we would like to visit. We then searched for these on Google Earth, finally testing our knowledge with a good old @quizizz Cant wait for next week! #LakeComputing
Computer science in action today in Year 6, as Team Elder got their hands on the Microbits for the very first time! Amazing collaboration and practical computer science in action. Thanks @VitalYork and @plattsch #LakeComputing #computerscience #microbits
In Computing, Team Beech have been learning about Stop-Motion Animation. Today they have worked incredibly hard to create animations about Stone Age hunters. The children have demonstrated brilliant teamwork, resilience and creativity! #LakeComputing
Computing club enjoyed some unplugged computing this afternoon and went outdoors to create a maze. We then had to work our way through the maze using algorithms, debugging them if necessary! We then finished our final session by looking at botlogic.#LakeComputing
Computing club enjoyed getting musical today, and used ‘Song maker’ to create some exciting compositions. #LakeComputing
Team Sycamore have been learning about wheels and axles in DT, and loved creating a set of Google Slides to find pictures of things with wheels. #LakeComputing #LakeDT
Who says you can’t link sport and computing together?? Today Team Leopards used the bluebots to play football! We had to create an algorithm to move the bluebot around the defenders and score a goal! Super fun! #LakeComputing
Bluebot choreography in Year 2 today, as we inputted algorithms to create a dance routine for the bluebots! What do you think @TheAntonDuBeke? Is it worthy of a 10? #LakeComputing #bluebots #algorithms #strictlyready
Another fab afternoon spent with our awesome computing club. Today we had a look at make a mosaic, and created some beautiful patterns and pictures using different tiles and colours. #LakeComputing #computingclub
Team Elm have been putting their work on number into action using the Chromebooks today! #LakeComputing #LakeMaths
The leopards loved using @Seesaw for the first time today. We had a go exploring the different tools and working on our trackpad skills at the same time. #LakeComputing
Team Elm enjoyed travelling around the world using Google Earth today, just like Emma Jane did in her aeroplane! #LakeEnglish #LakeComputing
Today, Team Elm searched for images of explorers equipment from the past. We talked about how the equipment had changed and compared the images we found to ones showing the modern equipment that is used today. #LakeComputing
An important afternoon in Team Sycamore reminding ourselves of how we can stay safe online. #LakeComputing #onlinesafety #digitalliteracy
Team Sycamore enjoyed some unplugged computer science today. We had a go at writing our own algorithms which our friends then had to follow in order to draw our crazy characters correctly. #LakeComputing #computerscience #barefootcomputing
Team Elm worked on their trackpad skills today, and used @Seesaw to draw and label pictures of different Arctic Animals. #LakeComputing #arcticanimals
Today the Leopards used the Bluebots to create artistic masterpieces, simply by inputting an algorithm! We used logical reasoning to help us to work out the algorithm that was needed to make our bluebots move and draw in a particular way. #LakeComputing
Who says you can’t link sport and computing together?? Today Team Leopards used the bluebots to play football! We had to create an algorithm to move the bluebot around the defenders and score a goal! Super fun! #LakeComputing
The Leopards enjoyed using the Bluebots today, inputting different algorithms to move them around the classroom. #LakeComputing #coding #algorithms
Today the Gorillas used their knowledge of keywords to search for images related to Kenya. They then put the images that they had found onto a Google Slide. #LakeComputing
This afternoon, the Gorillas had a go at creating some digital art, inspired by the works of Alma Thomas. #LakeComputing #digitalart
This afternoon in computing, the Gorillas used their Chromebooks to create a Google Slide showing different animal offspring. We then shared our work with the rest of the class.#LakeComputing
The Leopards enjoyed creating some island themed digital content using their Chromebooks today. #LakeComputing
The leopards loved using @Seesaw for the first time today. We had a go exploring the different tools and working on our trackpad skills at the same time. #LakeComputing

Year 2 took the Bluebots out on their driving tests today. Could we input the correct algorithm to park the Bluebots in the parking spaces and without bumping into anything? #LakeComputing
Today Year 2 used the Bluebots to play a game of capture the flag. We inputted algorithms, trying to get the Bluebot to knock over the glue. We debugged and had another try if they didn’t quite work first time. We then made things harder by adding in obstacles! #LakeComputing
Another fun lesson for Year 2 and our Bluebot buddies. Today we created algorithms that would draw shapes and even letters! We used logical reasoning to help us to plan and develop our algorithms, debugging any that didn’t quite work. #LakeComputing #controlsystems #bluebots
Year 2 loved using the bluebots today to explore algorithms. We used logical reasoning to work out how to move the bluebot to different people around the table. We then debugged our algorithms if they didn’t quite work. #LakeComputing #controlsystems #bluebots #algorithms
