Yes have to hand, preferably on a sign in/around buldings. Make sure every code is checked for location & routing as some Eircodes can misroute & delay the emergency services. Check codes here: checkyourcode.ie Also for places with no Eircode, a #loc8code can be used.

@SimonHarrisTD @MichealMartinTD An Post designed Eircode with limitations. Yet An Post does not use Eircode! Current policy of blocking #loc8code use in favour of Eircode must now stop. Loc8 can deliver all farm & rural requirements instantly & has been doing that since 2010.

Due to An Post imposed rules, demands for this for over 5yrs cannot be delivered by Eircode. However, Teagasc, IFA & ICMSA are aware that #loc8code has been providing the required service since 2010- used by the ambulance service also. loc8.ie/point8 for any location

Hi Conor, yes add your Loc8 Code to the end of our web address and you're in Google maps - like the field access at #loc8code RDC-13-6YN is on the map at loc8.ie/RDC-13-6YN Or go to our web app loc8.ie/point8 & when you click "Map" you're in Google maps.

IFA & ICMSA have been asking for extended Eircodes for several years but @Postvox rules wont allow it. They & @teagasc know that #loc8code is already providing this service but have chosen to ignore... WHY?

Make sure its visible on a sign & checked for location & routing. If no Eircode or the Eircode is not working correctly then a #loc8code can also be used. Do all this for those who cant. Use the guides here for checking codes checkyourcode.ie

If Eircode was all that it should be after 9 years of design debate, 50yrs learning from UK Postcode experience & the €48M committed by @Dept_ECC so far, #loc8code (in place years before Eircode) would not be needed to fill its glaring limitations for emergency response
