#LocalNetZeroDelivery (20) 📊 Find out more about @YouGov's exclusive polling for UK100 that finds people across the country believe local and regional leaders need more resources and powers to deliver #LocalNetZero — and support renewable investment to reduce energy prices.
UK100 hosted our first #ClimateLeadershipAcademy in Birmingham at the weekend. The workshops aim to help councillors gain the leadership tools and knowledge to accelerate their #LocalNetZero goals. Twenty local leaders joined us to hear from seven speakers & two expert coaches.
To support the launch of our #LocalNetZero delivery progress reports, we also commissioned @YouGov to ask people who they trusted most to take effective climate action. The majority of people (34%) trusted their local leaders above national government and businesses.
During the event, also featuring @LancasterCC, @SomersetWaste, and @sjcalkin, @Christophammond discussed the challenges of local authorities delivering #LocalNetZero owing to: - a lack of funding - a lack of powers - having to deal with other priorities

Speaking at #MissionZeroLaunch @ChiefExecUK100_ spoke about the Office for Net Zero Delivery which the report recommends that Gov't sets up. Polly said that the Office should be tasked with developing a Local Net Zero Powers Bill to enable #LocalNetZero.
