Nice idea to distinguish between inflationary and bouncing models. Problem: you can have a bouncing universe with inflation (that’s the cade in modo of the #LoopQuantumCosmology literature) 🤨

A new paper proposes a oscillatory pattern to look for that would test cosmic inflation against competing bounce models of the universe's birth. I wrote about the proposal on Quanta's blog: quantamagazine.org/a-new-test-for…
