So THAT'S why our province has the highest #ChildPoverty rates in Canada. For a second I thought it was our #LowWageModel. "Poverty of imagination perpetuates the cycle of poverty in our communities. And perpetuating poverty means shorter lives for our fellow Nova Scotians."

The reason Nova Scotia's labour laws are so hopelessly outdated is because our govt. is doing the bidding of groups like @cfibns, @halifaxchamber, @RestaurantsCA, the construction & roadbuilders associations. These business interest groups are huge fans of our #LowWageModel.

@StephenMcNeil feasted on this for almost eight years as premier of Nova Scotia - pitting people who didn’t have pensions, health benefits or a living wage - against those who did. Sadly, when you live in a province w. a #LowWageModel, this works. #nslab #canlab
