Last week on Phase 2 of the #LuminaryEmployabilityCourse our trainees talked all about career aspirations. Having these conversations, coupled with practical actions, is a necessary step toward employment & independence!

Last week we started Phase 2 of the #LuminaryEmployabilityCourse! *YAY* To kick things off they began by making vision boards to think through where they see themselves heading after this programme. #LuminaryBakery #WomenSupportingWomen

Last week Luminary reached a HUGE milestone as we welcomed our 200th woman on to the #LuminaryEmployabilityCourse 🎉 👏 🌙 That number represents 200 opportunities to overcome barriers, prepare for employment, and guidance in building towards a positive future.

Last week, with only one week remaining until they complete Phase 1 of the #LuminaryEmployabilityCourse our trainees practised some trickier skills; making beautiful merengue and tempering chocolate!

This week on the #LuminaryEmployabilityCourse our trainees pitched their very own bakes to a panel of Luminary pros!

We don’t know about you, but our trainees absolutely love baking choux! This week on the #LuminaryEmployabilityCourse our trainees made profiteroles which are made out of choux pastry, which can be very difficult and is something our trainees can be very proud of!

The trainee's pastry techniques are elevating on the #LuminaryEmployabilityCourse as our trainees practiced making puff & rough puff pastry this week in the form of tartlets & sausage rolls. They did an absolutely fantastic job & absolutely smashed these tricky bakes!

Last week on the #LuminaryEmployabilityCourse our trainees baked quiche and practised making pastry from scratch!

This week on Phase Two of the #LuminaryEmployabilityCourse we had the fantastic team from @smartworkscharity in to work with our trainees on their interview skills. Smart Works is a fantastic partner charity who have supported over 20,000 women, including Luminary women!

It’s one of the trainee's (and our) favourite weeks on the #LuminaryEmployabilityCourse: the famous Cinnamon Swirl! Luminary is known for our massive cinnamon swirls & our trainees have now been dubbed a full-fledged #LuminaryCinnamonSwirlGirl.

Afternoon at @LuminaryBakery to hear more about their #LuminaryEmployabilityCourse. A social enterprise that does great work in supporting women, affected by domestic violence, learn to bake and also find work. Another organisation similar to TRC that hires their graduates 👏

Last week the trainees on the #LuminaryEmployabilityCourse were baking up some fresh bread loaves & rolls as well as diving into a conversation about dealing with setbacks. ✨️

This week on Phase 2 of the #LuminaryEmployabilityCourse is about ‘Professionalism’. We cover different types of communication, appropriate behaviour, the idea that what is thought of as ‘professional’ may change in different workplaces and more!

This week on Phase 2 of the #LuminaryEmployabilityCourse our trainees focused on #professionalcommunication; specifically on #professionalwriting skills. All of these skills go toward building #confidence and #transferableskills as our trainees enter the working world.
