A5: absolutely!!! It is harder to assess hands on assessments such as creating numbers with base 10 blocks or counting counts. BUT it gives us more options for how students show learning. Ex: explaining work using audio, creating a video, uploading pictures of work #MB8assess

The Foreign Language dept in our district is moving towards project based learning!! I love the idea of it and hope to implement more projects next year!! #MB8assess


A6: We can give students choice in what form of assessment they do, we can allow students to show us what they know in a way that they feel best for example if a student would prefer to say the answer out loud #MB8assess


A4: I think that exit tickets are a great way to check in with students before assessing them. I make sure to do this after everything new that has been learned. It is also important to make sure students are keeping up with their work and are given help when needed! #MB8assess

A6: Students have strengths and weaknesses that must always be taken into account. Can you read a test out loud to Billy, who has a tough time with reading comprehension, but is amazing at verbal comprehension? I SAY YES! #MB8assess

A8: Sadly, in the upper elementary, assessment OF learning happens way too often. There are, sadly, too many expectations to be met and assessments we can't avoid. This just means we need to be that much more intentional when NOT doing required assessments. #MB8assess


A6: We are string together as a team. As a high school teacher, I work with my para-professional and EL teacher to make sure that the test is equitable for all students #MB8assess
