In early days of #MediaComp, we added blue boxes to help avoid indentation errors. We told students all about it. When Ss got that error, we’d ask “What about the blue boxes?” Response: what blue boxes?


I also created intro to CS for liberal arts some 20+ years ago #MediaComp. While CS has become narrower, the rest of the world is picking up the Computing that CS ignores. I learned a lot about Computing across LSA in our task force. See our report. drive.google.com/file/u/1/d/19r…

When I was building #MediaComp, I struggled with the CS obsession with sorting. I addressed algorithmic complexity issues with blurring and scaling up/down pictures and digital video special effects. Why does CS1 have to be about sorting on a linear scale?
