The Japanese Red Cross Society (JRCS) was established in 1877. Since 1890, the JRCS has been running a Nurse Training Programme, which has trained thousands of nurses in disaster relief. Currently, around 1,300 nurses graduate from this programme each year. #medicalmuseums

Despite the systematic destruction of American #medicalmuseums in the 1960s &70s, “Harriet” - as the specimen has been affectionally known as for over a century - is still extant. As an historic specimen, the “Harriet” dissection is incredibly significant.
