I often 😕 get overoaked wines 🍷 with too high alcohol. However, this #cabernet #merlot from @ChateauVartely after 5 years has magically changed and its a beautiful harmonious, blackcurrant fruit ,oaky in a good way, refined #wine. #moldova

Never been a fan of 2003 #Bordeaux Right Bank #wine but must admit there is freshness in these two. Not blockbusters but the fruit is ripe and tannins are not green. The Rouget surprised me with the dark chocolate and length on final. #Merlot #Pomerol

Gets rave reviews. I find it awful. Over extracted, overblown big fruit bomb of chocolate raspberry, lacking acidity, hot from alcohol. So denatured you can’t tell if it’s #Syrah, #Merlot or #Cabernet Very sad. I can see why RP or JS scored it high, but not for me. #Boring #wine
