Solidaridad, under #NISCOPS, is distributing 120,000 #oilpalm seedlings to farmers across 4 Nigerian states. These seedlings, from community nurseries established under the programme, will replace aged trees and boost yields & #income. NISCOPS is funded by @DutchMFA & @FCDOGovUK.

1/2 @Solidaridad_wa has trained 20 new community facilitators on the setup and operation of #VSLAs, as part of efforts to improve access to finance for smallholder oil palm farmers in Nigeria. These facilitators will establish VSLAs for newly formed farmer groups under #NISCOPS.

1/2 Today, @Solidaridad_wa, in partnership with @IDHTrade, concluded a 2-day workshop with the National Research Partners (NRP) under #NISCOPS in Nigeria. The NRP comprises academics who support and validate research for the implementation of NISCOPS.

Solidaridad has trained 32 community facilitators in #oilpalm best management practices, community entry methods, gender & social inclusion, and #VSLA operations, under #NISCOPS in Nigeria. NI-SCOPS is funded by @NLNetherlands & @FCDOGovUK.

To promote #sustainable land use practices in communities, @Solidaridad_wa has built the capacity of 45 smallholder #oilpalm farmers on the safe use of bio-friendly herbicides, under #NISCOPS funded by @NLNetherlands and @Henkel.

With the aim of restoring degraded lands through oil palm cultivation, @Solidaridad_wa has distributed 120,000 #oilpalm seeds, 6,000 kgs of fertilizer and other inputs to smallholder farmers across 4 states in Nigeria under #NISCOPS 2 funded by @NLNetherlands and @FCDOGovUK.

Upon receiving training in #oilpalm nursery operation & management under #NISCOPS 1, Rekiya Abdul, an oil palm farmer in the Kogi state of Nigeria, successfully set up her own oil palm nursery, allowing her to earn extra income. NISCOPS 1 was funded by @NLNetherlands & @Henkel.
