...a million downloads on Chrome store (which temporarily banned it over Xmas), 100k on Opera, 50k(?) on Firefox is clearly still early days. But the emergence of #Snaps: medium.com/metamask/intro… does feel a bit like the #NPAPI/#ActiveX shift in the mid-90s. One to watch in 2020.

Wow! This could be a genuine gamechanger. Citing work with the standards community to phase out #Flash & #NPAPI, & implying @googlechrome won't be substituting "opaque techniques such as #fingerprinting" it remains to be seen how "the ecosystem" (including advertisers?) responds.

After all, I don't think any "modern" browser will support #NPAPI plugins other than #Flash in @Firefox (as a special exception).
