We were working with our #LMDCVE partners in #Burnaby today. Of the 28 🚛 we inspected today, 19 of them were placed #OutOfService and taken off the roadway with 37 tickets issued to drivers #CMVSafety #TruckSafety #RoadSafety
Some of the defects we found the last 2 days in @_HaltonHills at the lay by lanes: -3 adjacent cracked/sagging trailer frame cross members in a fully loaded trailer (also supporting aux fuel tank) - wafer thin brake shoes -sliding 5th wheel locks disengaged #OutOfService
While a properly lubricated truck is usually good; like everything else, everything in moderation; especially near the brakes. The steer axle brake on this highway tractor was found to be excessively contaminated with thick grease on the friction surfaces. #OutOfService ^MRT
