Last year, less than 1% of our students were riding bikes or scooters to school. Research suggested we needed a safe, dry parking bay so we found an unused space and converted it. We might need a bigger parking bay! #ProjectReimaginate
Our Secret Garden space might just be finished. Today we topped with brown mulch to contrast the pebbles and native plants. What’s next? #ProjectReimaginate
We have a nature play focus this term. Before working with real tools for our outdoor classroom build, we practiced risk taking by using whittling knives. Ss created stick tools and toys to decorate. Lots of fun, lots of focus! #ProjectReimaginate
School Governing Council approved funding for our big 2020 transformations, now we work! We will create a “hideaway” space for younger students, dedicated garden beds, a Japanese garden, forest play EVERY break, & a “learning street” breakout space. #ProjectReimaginate
Last day of term with Ss today. Not sure when we will be face-to-face again. We spent plenty of time outside this week, working on the idea of marginal gains, that each small action contributes to the long term enrichment of our school. #ProjectReimaginate
@ irasocol RT ProjReimaginate: Butterfly artworks for the Secret Garden. Students will plant a variety of natives in the space during our #DayOfPlay to attract butterflies. #ProjectReimaginate
Before and after. The brightness is noticeable to the eye. It will be interesting to measure and compare lux data this week. #ProjectReimaginate
Bikes and scooters added a real, not imagined, element of risk to our yard today - speed. Although student numbers are down due to Coronavirus, over 50% of Ss actively travelled to school today. We also had a heap of fun. #ProjectReimaginate
It’s happening! Our new play, parking, and flexible learning spaces are almost finished. Ready for our second #DayOfPlay and exhibition day in a few weeks. #ProjectReimaginate
Real tools, real work, real impact. We are creating a safe path for families, particularly those with prams, to access our kindergarten. #ProjectReimaginate
Our latest transformation was our “meeting” out room which we’ve converted into a theatre and quiet space for large group learning. Lots of writeable surfaces for Ss, including the windows when using chalk pens. #ProjectReimaginate
Today, students used @AdobeSpark to create basic information posters for our @learnometer which measures lux; temperature; CO2; VOCs; fine dust; noise and humidity. Each class will get a set as the Learnometer travels around. #ProjectReimaginate @stephenheppell
Got our @learnometer in the mail yesterday. Ss are ready to start collecting, interpreting and responding to the data to prototype diverse learning spaces within our open plan units. #ProjectReimaginate
The white brick now starts outside the entrance and wraps around into the studio and the flexi spaces. A top coat and a redecorate before Monday should make for a pretty cool reveal! #ProjectReimaginate

None of our transformations would be possible without the support of Ps/Gs and families. #ProjectReimaginate runs on trust. Trusting kids to make real decisions, manage budgets, and design and create beautiful, functional, and inspiring spaces.

Our class watched this video featuring @stephenheppell today while searching for inspiration. A tiny budget won’t stop us from creating effective learning spaces for students using donated, recycled or reclaimed resources. #ProjectReimaginate youtu.be/WVVkJTci-8M

Job done. Uncovered. Emptied of junk. Returned to learners. This is our “new” multi-media studio. #ProjectReimaginate
Our #ProjectReimaginate mud kitchen continues to be popular with you g students. Upgrades coming in 2020.

Lots of loose parts play in the yard today. A water run, cubby town, and newly renovated mud kitchen provided plenty of opportunities for construction and imagination play! #DayofPlay #ProjectReimaginate

Maria from Nature Play SA helped Ss set up a fire pit and cook damper on a stick. The blindfold ropes course through the new forest space was a hit. The horizontal climbing wall will be popular for years to come! #ProjectReimaginate
