More & more libraries having to close due to short-staffing, years ago when there was give in the system this would rarely if ever happen but most services are below minimum staffing levels + lots of staff off sick due to stress & the aftermath of covid. #protectlibraryworkers

Lone-working isn’t just a serious health&safety concern it’s also a sign of poor management. Library Workers even in smaller branches should never be forced to lone-work and if they are then their union reps should be all over management. #protectlibraryworkers

Abuse & assaults on Library Workers are increasing but aren’t reported enough by staff and aren’t taken seriously enough by management. Yes we need training and support but most of all we need more funding, resources, staffing and better library design. #protectlibraryworkers

More stories about Library Workers being threatened, abused and assaulted, this isn’t a new thing but it’s definitely getting worse. Cuts, short-staffing, poor management, colocation and socio-economic pressures have put library staff at greater risk. #protectlibraryworkers
