"As a scientist, I'm dismayed when members of the public are swayed by long discredited studies...it's time for the scientific community to address meaningful signals that indicate trustworthiness." —@theNASciences President, @Marcia4Science #ReproducibilityinScience
good afternoon! Welcome to #reproducibilityweekR4E, where we will introduce the Reproducibility for everyone group (R4E) and share different topics in #reproducibilityinScience each day of this week.
Using #rstats is great for #openscience and #ReproducibilityInScience, but be aware that with R>=3.6 there have been changes to the sample() function that can affect the reproducibility of your results (even when you set seed).
This is fun but also could be useful! Emojis to immediately indicate whether experiments are blinded randomized etc - even if not in a figure maybe the phone companies will add them for us to use when tweeting 😉#ReproducibilityInScience Shai Silberberg
“You cannot have successful policy without implementing effective infrastructure to enable and enforce those policies.” —@BrianNosek, Executive Director of @OSFramework #ReproducibilityinScience
Wonderful start to Day 2 of NAS mtgs on #reproducibilityinscience. @BrianNosek @ACasadevall1 @CWolinetzNIH @YarCarLab Focus on real life struggles of early career researchers as well as all in the research pipeline, up to NIH, trying to do the right, transparent thing.

Our CEO & President Dr. Magali Haas discusses #ReproducibilityInScience and #bestpractices @theNASEM
The crisis of reproducibility in science is real. And it's serious.
After a successful day on research communication, our second day is on Reproducibility in Science and presented by @GustavNilsonne. A critical topic for our scientific community. #LFIN #ReproducibilityInScience
In 20 years, NIH leadership and universities have done literally nothing to address this issue. If you just try to recreate experiments. You can only do it 10 -40% of the time. No one stood up for reproducible science
Next time I see a PDF with an MRI protocol, I’ll be asking for the @NeuroLibre publication of it instead! My Newsletter can give you a better idea on what I'm talking about! #ReproducibilityInScience #GMB3660
The replication crisis in the social sciences can end. That's what a new paper by @JProtzko found. Four laboratories made discoveries with large samples, confirmatory tests, and preregistered methods and hypotheses. The findings replicated. Do good science and it's replicable.
One of the most useful things from the RSE unconference for me was this diagram breaking down the different aspects of what we mean when we say "reproducible research" the-turing-way.netlify.app/reproducible-r…
The concept of truly reproducible research means that all papers (code, data, PDF) get archived on chain. Now the citation graph becomes an import graph. No more guesswork to reproduce a figure, just call the function from that paper. Composable science is reproducible science.
Episode Nr. 2 is up! 📺🎧 We're incredibly proud to be joined by @balajis on this episode of The DeSci Podcast! The new episode is available on all your favourite platforms - You can find topics and all links in the comments below! 👇
Many #research fields are facing a reproducibility crisis. Dr Luck @stride2future explores the reasons behind this inability to reproduce experimental results. He suggests two requirements to overcome the crisis. #SciComm #statistics #data youtu.be/EuwS-4ad43A
🎉 Reproducibility Reports are LIVE! Papers now link to reproducibility reports. Alongside code, this is a new signal for how reproducible a paper's findings are. Thanks to RC2020 participants, reviewers and ACs for their hard work! Example: paperswithcode.com/paper/training…
