Check out this comic story of symmetry breaking and restoration in quantum mechanics - read it from "a" to "d". DIY in your basic QMs course - everything happens in the doubly symmetric potential well. More in the article that we write for #RevModPhys
While this may be a somewhat superficial metric, it is still nice to see that 5 publications came out of the group this year in the @Nature and @ScienceMagazine groups, 6 in @PhysRevX and @PRX_Quantum, 5 in the @PhysRevLett and 1 in the #RevModPhys.
Only after a year of royal procrastination and another year of hard work, our review on symmetry restoration is out in arxiv.org/abs/1901.06992 and submitted to #RevModPhys. Now more time for research at @PhysicsatYork.
Citations can be misleading, they sometimes give rise to funny incentives, and they have a couple of obvious and less obvious biases. And still, I am happy to see that our review on #arealaws for #entanglement for the @APSphysics #RevModPhys has hit the 3000 citations barrier.
I have noticed for a grant application that this is the 100th paper I have been involved in in the @PhysRevLett, @PRX_Quantum, @PhysRevX or #RevModPhys. I remain committed to APS journals. CC @RobertGaristo, @KatiusciaNC.
In 1999 Hopfield published this beautiful piece in #RevModPhys. Physicists outraged by the Nobel prize, where have you been the last 25 years? It'd be amusing if it weren't for the fact that these are the people rejecting our physics papers and proposals journals.aps.org/rmp/pdf/10.110…
