This proposal is a huge step in the regulatory process, historic, and overdue. If finalized, these will be the first MCLs for new contaminants proposed and finalized under the 1996 amendments to #SDWA. #PFAS #ForeverChemicals
The proposed MCLs are also lower than all state MCLs for PFOA and PFOS. Because federal limits set a floor under #SDWA, states will have to adopt the lower MCLs for PFOA and PFOS #PFAS #ForeverChemicals
