An excellent overview of the history of the observations and theories of #solar coronal mass ejections was given by Russell A. Howard @JHUAPL on Day 1 at School 2 organised in #SWATNetProject . A first-ever halo #CME was observed and documented in Nov 1979, and it is a beauty!
