Agreed. Also, there's the simple matter of practicality. We cannot impose English on hundreds of millions of Indians for whom it is an alien language. And there has to be some way of communicating complex ideas and concepts to them in their respective mother tongues.
My mother tongue is hindi it has sufficient amount of people who can speak hindi that's why there is no need to fund Hindi similarly it's with Tamil.Crores of people can speak Tamil.Tamil , Hindi don't FaceDanger of extinction but Sanskrit is facing thats why it is being funded.
