うお、これちょっと普通にLocalize ああそうだ、Localize対応ももももももも

i get the need for "localization" but it gets to a point where it starts feeling detached from the original

Por eso se les denominan localización a los mal llamados doblajes cuando el mismo idioma se habla en diferentes regiones y están diferenciados, pasa lo mismo con el Inglés (UK) y (USA)

english localization when it's time to suck out more meaningful connotations from dialogue

Few people talk about it, but I hope the silent fans of the English version can know. In the Chinese, Japanese, and Korean versions, Silent Salt directly said: The hope I have been longing for all this time is you.

Something to research. Im going to tear down the web of bullshit censorship that is “localization”.

Was given an anonymous tip that the localizer in question is likely being propped up by a clique of localizers and wannabe-influencers based in Japan via the 8-4 company. While best taken with a grain of salt, there could be something here.

Localization is the transgenderism of the translation world; a bastardization of the original masquerading as something it's not & can never be.

Learning from past mistakes, here's localization support from the get-go (in this case, in Spanish). The area codes must be localized as well, but that is a tad more involved so I'll deal with that in a bit. #gamedev #lowrez #lowres #lowpoly #psx #32bitjam #indiedev #indiegamedev

2013? Yes, maybe I would use the term localization or translation. We are not seeing localization anymore. This is just straight ideological revisionism If they collectively apologize and promise to deliver normal products (will never happen), fine if not, let the market fix it

Very bad news for everyone that is a manga reader... Japanese Companies are firing real translators and replacing them with Ai Translations for English Release to combat piracy... Even One Piece is embracing Ai too... youtu.be/ZJs-0RY8c_Q

Localization is bastardization, plain & simple. It's a thinly veiled excuse for rewrites. Translation should be the accepted term & standard practice for Japanese media, as the process already accounts for proper English grammar & "natural" sounding speech.

Another thing I don’t quite like about some localizers is when they replace honorifics with some dumb shit. They’ll change something like onee-chan to “sissy” or “boss” whenever someone has sama at the end of their name Just translate the honorifics normally

the point of localization is to be *immersive* for the foreign audience that’s why *equivalent slang*, or as much as possible, is used in order for the audience to get the same feeling as if they were experiencing the same as a native speaker

هذه التغريدة لم تعد متوفرة.

Now I wouldn't even call this "localization"—it's translation. It takes into account the shared cultural understanding of a word/phrase rather than simply the dictionary definition of its constituent parts. I'm not "changing" anything; I'm still bringing the meaning across.

Localization is when western corporations skin Japanese properties alive and wear the body like a flesh automaton.

Localization is when you translate something that doesn't translate perfectly to another language This is not localization

This is not localization

hard disagree translation, imo, is much more literal and can sound awkward in the target language. localization is tweaking a translation so that it sounds more natural but the overall meaning/intent isn’t lost

There's no actual difference between translation and localization. Those are industry buzz words that mean the same thing.

When people translated Beowulf so english speakers could enjoy it, they didn't call it "localization", it was just translation. Localization is something different, an example would be changing religious references to whatever the target country believes in. "Kami" to "Jesus".

Also, localization support means that you can technically replace any text in the game with whatever you want. Use your new power for good not evil plz
