Interesting. This is one reason I do like slides - I always prepared slides with both information on the body and associated notes not for the lecture but for students to have at a later date. Also reminds me of learning using video where the user can determine speed.
Totally agree. At university, some profs provide the slides to the students and students take notes on top of the slides with iPad/stylus.

The secret to good slides (and good papers) is to be able to tell a story. The pictures or words are there to illustrate it. This is getting close enough to intention that it is starting to be useful for the story rather than just decorative.
