GATE PAC, our newly established parent advisory committee for the #bsdGATE program, came together this holiday season and held a food drive. In partnership with @BurtonBulldogs who provided turkeys, we are able to provide 6 BSD families with Thanksgiving meals. 💙 @BurtonSchools

5th grade #bsdGATE Camp was out of this galaxy! Students practiced the 7 Habits and team building through many activities with a Star Wars twist! From team challenges to a laser tag battle against the stormtroopers, the kids had a blast defeating the Empire!

In Wonders, The Secret World of caves can be analyzed through the lens of a cave biologist. These students are decomposing the details, language, and rules of cave life totally in the dark to connect it to the main idea and essential question. #bsdgate

A lesson that has a clear learning goal with depth and complexity framework imbedded helps students understand exactly what is expected of them. Provider students with a graphic organizer to gather their ideas with iconic prompts gives them choice and justification. #BSDgate

We had some fun with TCI creating a human map of Egypt and Kush. Trying to figure out the factors that contributed to their civilizations. #bsdGATE

A productive day includes language of the discipline, story blasters, and movie scripts to really dive deep into details and rules. Our story was created from multiple perspectives and has a hook that was fun to act out. #bsdGATE
