The engine overhaul of 24081 @GWSR has got off to a great start. The heads were all removed without any broken head studs! The main reason for the overhaul was a worsening water leak on one of the heads. The last works overhaul was in 1975, almost 50 years ago! #Class24

Our very own Sulzer Type 2 Class 24 diesel is to come out of traffic for engine repairs, following the railwayโs annual Summer Heritage Diesel Gala in July. 5081 is 64 years old. The last operational day in traffic is scheduled for Sunday 21st July. #class24 #sulzer @GWSRDiesels
