Especially when the bug has to do with missing semi-colon ; 😂

Maybe for some, but most struggling devs I see lack clear basics. That blocks progress long before perfectionism hits.

Developers blame the computer until they find the missing semicolon. One tiny character can crash a whole build. Coding humbles everyone. Stay consistent and the wins get bigger. Your mistakes get smarter too.

How did they even mess up developer tools so bad they crash every 5 minutes? I can't get anything done with this...

When you're writing code, sometimes you may not even know it's broken or vulnerable until something bad happens. So Manish wrote this guide to help you identify common issues that'll make your code less safe. He talks about missing input validation, poor error handling, no rate…

This is so painfully relatable. I find near-zero pleasure in coding anymore. You're trapped. Write by hand and know you're wasting time overall. Use AI and be crushed by wait times and context switch.

I'm bottlenecked by Codex. Every day, I have to choose 2 or 3 things to work on, because it will spend a long time on each. My routine is like: - wake up - write a prompt - send it to Codex - go eat something - come back, it is still not done - take a shower - come back, still…

I'm gonna be the one to say it. We currently have an extreme junior / lack of education problem in this industry. On one side you got people who barely understand how a for loop works just slinging slop everywhere using AI On the other side we have people who learn to do…

Oh guys, when is it a sign that you should take a short break from coding? A tendon sheath inflammation. Some days I’ll leave my keyboard in the corner… who of you had that before, too? #CodingJourney #codersproblems #tendonsheathinflammation #codinglife

there are 2 hard problems in computer science: cache invalidation, naming things, and off-by-1 errors

Found this awesome infographic which explains some common error types we come across while coding!

My top 5 common issues I face when coding or doing Linux admin (or any IT work for that matter): 1 Interrupted by meetings (these days Zoom and co) 2 Project managers 3 Other humans or pets/kids interrupt thinking flow 4 Typos 5 Laziness

Most scientists, even the ones doing research relevant for policy, can't afford to hire professionals for their software development. So you get the coding equivalent of duct tape and chewing gum: Works, but looks crappy. nature.com/articles/d4158…
