Exactly. Cognitive scientists call this “compression”: the ability to strip an idea down to its essence before expanding it. The best writers don’t decorate thoughts, they distill them. This is why writing is really a thinking discipline.
Compression is the deliberate return inward—the warrior’s pause. You go into yourself the way a diver goes beneath the surface: slow, intentional, listening for what you’ve ignored. You examine your motives, your reactions, your sharp edges without excuses. That internal pressure…
You're in COMPRESSION mode if: ✅ Learning curve: Hard initially, then accelerate ✅ Can explain without AI present ✅ Tackling harder problems over time ✅ Understanding deepens ✅ Can identify when AI is wrong ✅ Feel capable, not dependent

You say you don’t want to be around emotionally expressive people like AZ because you feel obliged to repress your own emotions. But here’s the truth: emotionally aware individuals don’t ask you to shrink they simply refuse to shrink themselves. There’s a difference🥱
You suffer from depression. I suffer from compression. Help me I’m so small. I also suffer from depression

The amount of emotional chaos that ensues when capacity is low - like when tired, sick, or when circumstances are extra stressful - reflects how much emotional repression is going on and how much capacity is continuously taken up by emotional repression at other times.
When you suppress your need for love and understanding, you also diminish your capacity to eventually receive these. I repeat: repressing what you really need ends up affecting how comfortable you will be with emotional intimacy. It makes it harder to be vulnerable.
Repressed pain makes you sensitive/passive aggressive/irrational/numb/defensive/abusive the list goes on.
today on ‘tweets that could be journal entries’: when i get stressed/super overwhelmed, i retreat emotionally and become short as a defense mechanism. i justify it by saying “at least i haven’t cussed or hit anyone,” but it can still be just as harmful to the people around me.
Your inside will slowly deform when you suppress your negativity and try to appear positive all the time. Your suppression becomes accumulation. Your accumulation becomes energy and body blockages. Your flow and vibe become unnatural. Love yourself. Feel your feelings and let go.
It's a new day I want you to say less I want you to do less I want you to just let go of all the bullshit and all of the baggage emotional damage childhood traumas I want you to know that those are the things that you're feeling. Your not sick or depressed. Your compressed.
