Im curious of the number of other schools that deliver the Direct Instruction programme, Maths/Expressive writing /Decoding/Spelling? #Direct_Instruction
It worries me greatly that you conflate evidence with proof. There is evidence that #direct_instruction leads to improvements in student achievements in #direct_instruction-friendly assessments. But that’s not the same as proof it supports learning.

I have taught Decoding / Exp Writing and Connecting Maths Concepts. Haven't tried the Mastery Spelling one yet but have downloaded the placement tests. Would be great to share DI experiences #direct_instruction

And even then, as I’m holding my child’s hand as we cross the street together and asking them questions about why we’re doing it this way, children are making discoveries beyond what I tell them.
