What was your first computer? Ours was a dual floppy drive Amstrad, colour monitor and 2400 baud modem, bought in the early 90s. Many happy BBS hours followed on Mordor and Nexus. #FirstComputers

Third question: How do the ENIAC and Colossus change your perceptions of the “first computers”? #FirstComputers #XUCOMM221

Anyone remember getting their first computer in the classroom? #vintagetech #backintheday #firstcomputers #loadingforever

ICT lessons were VERY different in the 80s. 😂 🖥 #BackInTimeForSchool

I really enjoy studying the history of the first computers. I also like knowing where something started and then predicting where it will progress. I also enjoy studying gender and the progress that women have made in the digital world today! #XUCOMM221 #FirstComputers

I TOTALLY agree. I don’t know how they were able to do it, but I am so incredibly glad that they did what they did. We wouldn’t be in this “digital age” if those women didn’t do what they were doing in ENIAC and Colossus. #FirstComputers #XUCOMM21

@DabsDotCom #firstcomputers Tandy TRS-80 - which gives my age away completely :)

It has changed a lot because when we say computer today we think of our laptops or desktops. We forget that that used to be a job title a long time ago. #FirstComputers #XUCOMM221

1/ The journey began in the 1970s with the introduction of microprocessors. Pioneers like Intel created chips that could perform calculations quickly, enabling the development of the first personal computers like the Altair 8800! 🖥️🔧 #Microprocessors #FirstComputers

I agree! I always knew they were a big deal, just wasn't sure how big of a deal and the details about them #FirstComputers #XUCOMM221

I don't know if my perception changed at all. I think my perception was always that early computers were huge and clunky. However, that doesn't take away from how important they were, especially in the war effort. #FirstComputers #XUCOMM221

More in terms of what? Sheer number? Percentage? What are you thinking about here. #XUCOMM221 #FirstComputers
