Really enjoyed the #frictionsig (on interactions that are purposefuly slowed, or extended, for interaction benefits). And that it had the freedom to carry on in the room. #chi2021 (and yes thats some @ShitUserStory examples in the corner).
What is this new feature in @Outlook?? Do I really need to confirm every time I want to delete an email? What happened to the bin? Not the type of friction I’m after... easier option is to simply archive but that just leads to digital hoarding #frictionsig
Just came out of a 2hr #CHI2021 SIG on 'Designed & Engineered Friction in Interaction' (w/ @AnnaCox_ @BCowanHCI @martacecchinato @sjjgo @LewisChuang et al). The interactive @sig_chi events are the ones pulling me in this year. Always design to enable interaction. #frictionsig

My baby woke up every ~1.5hrs last night so now I feel sufficiently sleep deprived and “jet lagged” to start #chi2021 😅😴 looking forward to our SIG on Designed and Engineered Friction in Interaction. See you in workshop room 3 in a couple of hours #frictionsig
Delighted to see so many people join our #frictionsig at #chi2021 - such interesting discussions about nudges and dark patterns in interaction design. We'll be sharing a pdf of the miro board we are creating so those unable to join can see a record of the discussion
a call from @BCowanHCI - if you do experience interaction frictions (amusing or just good ideas) - or times when you wish there had been one - then tweet about it, and use the #frictionsig hashtag, as well as maybe #chi2021
Planning your week at #CHI2021? Don't forget our #frictionsig on Monday. Contribute beforehand on the form linked in the tweet below
My co-organisers and I are hosting a SIG about ‘frictions' in interactions at #chi2021: sjjg.uk/frictions-sig/ We’d like to know your perspective on frictions before the session too (whether or not you can make it!): forms.gle/SmiZs6VdFQmfcu…
Im in the #frictionsig at #chi2021 now - on designed/engineered frictions - things that are purposefully slow or stop you from doing something without thinking! example being given by @sjjgo is twitter asking you whether you want to RT without reading.
It’s the #frictionsig record - 'Designed & Engineered Friction in Interaction'
We were really delighted with everyone’s energy at the SIG on frictions yesterday. Thanks to everyone who contributed. Here’s a read-only copy of the Miro board if you want to catch up on what we did: miro.com/app/board/o9J_… #chi2021
hopefully this privacy vs dark patterns Spaces discussion today is of interest! would love some international participation #frictionsig #CHI2021 @sig_chi
