So enjoyed @ninastibbe’s mordant portrait of the comic and the not-so-comic in #GloucesterCrescent, north London, where I grew up. She’s almost as good as #AlanBennett, who is a regular in the household she looks after. Both enliven it with humour and plain speaking. A treat!

What a curious feeling, reading this memoir of growing up in #Gloucestercrescent, where I too lived as a child. The backdrop is utterly recognisable, while the foreground is very different to my own. ⁦@WilliamRMiller⁩ is a brave man to reveal so much with so little guile.
