Y4💜 have been busy creating their very own harmonicas this afternoon. We made this model to demonstrate how vibration creates sound 🔊 The children did well to listen to the instructions carefully and definitely enjoyed creating sound with them🙉👏@MabLanePri @advisoryscience

Perrymoor have spent their afternoon testing rocks. We completed three tests. We tested how hard rocks are, if they sink or float, and if they react with acid. We made predictions and then made observations. We ensured that we had a fair test for each. #HEPScience

Cocklemoor thought about what recycling is this afternoon. We thought of items that could be recycled and why recycling was important for protecting the environment. We used recyclable materials for junk modelling and even tried to do a bit of sorting! #hepscience #hepseyfs
Lots of jungle related fun in Cocklemoor this afternoon. One activity involved children matching animals to their correct print. Children enjoyed building “a waterfall” in the jungle small world area. #hepscience

Teaching Year 3 Rocks? Diamonds are found in some metamorphic rocks, formed under intense heat and pressure. Diamonds are one of the hardest natural materials on earth and can be used for jewellery 💍and drill tips. A scratch test can be used to check for fakes! #HEPScience
Cocklemoor learnt about the life cycle of a butterfly this afternoon and applied this to their own class caterpillars. They realised they may be ready to become butterflies soon so set to work preparing a suitable habitat. #hepscience
