Oh yes, for sure. Both @codexeditor and myself have versions of what you are describing. #ImageSnippets with images and linked data specifically. Point to image uri's and/or regions in images and create annotations that link to other uri's.

*iptc embedded metadata standard used by many photo systems and of course, #ImageSnippets...But social media has stripped this data using privacy concerns as a reason. Certainly it's useful to remove location in some environments, but did not have to remove all data

Omg. Another new term for something I have been doing for a long time: Metadata Archaeology. Digging around for better metadata using what already exists for one thing. #metadataarchaeology and #ImageSnippets has been doing for years and yes, I am going to use this term. :-)

yes - wonder why you call it the 'flickr fallacy'. I don't like the flickr feed for either my images or what I'm seeing from others. One reason I don't use flickr. I do use #Imagesnippets all the time to find images I've previously shared because I may want to share them again.

So...interestingly, we have an uploader (basically in alpha)...for uploading images to #ImageSnippets for Android with descriptions that you can then integrate into #kg. The role that images play in #pkm is very interesting...writing about this now.

Following up on the change in the way Google now displays embedded #iptc metadata credits in their image search results. Here are two screenshots - the metadata for both of these images is managed through #imagesnippets. Each photo was located at different URL's.

I just had new artwork juried into a show at a gallery in Pensacola, FL. With just one #RDF triple added to each image in #ImageSnippets, I was able to include the images in my #WordPress website web gallery using the Imagesnippets plugin : margaretwarren.us/fine-art
