You don’t need to travel to immerse yourself. Switch your phone language, follow native creators, and use podcasts daily. #immersiontechniques #languagelearningtips #mylanguageroutine #mylanguageclasses

exposure is exposure, so immersion works in that regard, but it's true that immersion isn't a shortcut to fluency and lying about that is unhelpful, there are better ways to give kids exposure they'll use to gain fluency for fun 30 years later.

they don't tell you this in school but the immersion method will get you further than any grammar lessons

italki.com once you have a basic grasp of rules/grammar, do this a. bunch if you can't do immersion

I personally always think immersion is the one of the better methods, but that works out better for me than some people. Idk. Go at it however you like.

Full immersion. Set all of your devices in the language you want to learn, search a word in the dictionary in that language instead of searching for its translation, if you want to learn about a certain topic, read articles or watch videos in that language, and so on.

the method is you actually use the language. if you read the accounts of the 'immersion' methods, it just amounts to creating situations where you'd have to use the target language, but with training wheels. tutors prompt you to write or speak. that's it

This is exactly the kind of craft talk that deserves to be on a conference panel. It’s immersive methodology. It’s ethnography with extra steps.

Immersion doesn't require international travel. Change your phone language. Follow native speakers on social media. Listen to local radio stations online. Create immersion in your living room starting today immediately.

The things that break immersion are the things that break your flow in a game, usually because you know what you need to do but can't figure out how to interact with the game to do it. Biggest breaker of immersion IMHO is usually bad UI. Fighting with the controls breaks flow.

well even "immersion" doesn't do anything on its own. I'd say 1) try to learn all the grammar 2) try to understand real things 3) try to say real things, the real things that you usually actually want to say

As for immersion, watch/read/listen to media in your language of choice in your off time and even take opportunities to study it in that form occasionally. I don’t recommend anything too too advanced though if you’re a straight beginner in the lang. Have fun with it tho!

Immersive Learning Involves surrounding yourself directly in the environment where the skill will be used. Example: Moving to a country to learn the native language. An extreme example would be not allowing yourself to speak your first-language while there.
