Cool postdoc opportunity to work on #kindComputing. If you are a software engineering researcher, with an interest in conducting multidisciplinary, societally-important research, do get in touch with Faeq. Application deadline 17th July 2024. linkedin.com/posts/activity…

If you’re interested in #kindComputing & #responsibleSoftwareEngineering, pls check out our paper: “Meta-modelling kindness” If you’re attending @modelsconf in Linz this week, why not pop by my presentation for a chat? #SoftwareForAKinderWorld [2/2] dl.acm.org/doi/10.1145/36…

Looking forward to hearing my co-author, Dr Faeq Alrimawi, present our @ICSEconf paper on Thursday, introducing #kindComputing. We think it’s a novel example of #responsibleSoftwareEngineering research. You can read the pre-print at: spare.lero.ie/wp-content/upl… 1/2

In my own research, I am interested in the consideration and embedding of values in the very fabric of my discipline (#responsibleSoftwareEngineering), but I am also interested in embedding particular values such as kindness & diversity (#kindComputing). 2/n

I wonder if technology can help things along. My colleague Dr Faeq Alrimawi & I have proposed the notion of #kindComputing, to help software engineers consider incorporating pro-social behaviours as part of the systems that they build and deliver. dl.acm.org/doi/abs/10.114…

Thanks Nelly! Very #kind of you to say that 😍 It’s so much harder to give an 18-minute talk than a 60-minute one! 😅 Our paper can be downloaded from the link below… #KindComputing #ResponsibleSoftwareEngineering #SoftwareForAKinderWorld

Oh, nooo… #kindComputing please… it’s ok to make @AndreasZeller look good, just make yourself look better 😜 spare.lero.ie/wp-content/upl…

In the second of @LeroCentre’s panel series on #ResponsibleSoftwareEngineering, we discuss #KindComputing, reflecting forthcoming @ICSEconf NIER paper on the topic. spare.lero.ie/wp-content/upl…

Good observations. We have struggled with these issues in our #kindComputing research, because although 'acts of kindness' between a giver an a receiver can be mediated by technology, the intentions of the giver, the status of the receiver, and who's watching, complicate matters.

Day 3 of 4 @reginamundicork Today the girls had a ball learning about AI & Machine learning but the also understood why they must have a strong sense of social responsibility in the use of AI through #kindcomputing @LeroCentre #codeplus #WomenInSTEM @OideTechinEd @Oide_CompSci

The emoji shapes behavior. When you see a tweet you appreciate, if the tweet is positive, you ❤️ it. If it's negative—outrage or bad news—a ❤️ seems inappropriate. So people are slightly more likely to retweet to express appreciation. That makes negative content more viral.

Do join us if you can for what promises to be a great panel on #kindComputing on Thursday! Speakers include our own Dr Faeq Alrimawi, co-author of the forthcoming @ICSEconf paper on the topic (with @BNuseibeh)

In the second of our panel series on #ResponsibleSoftwareEngineering, we discuss #KindComputing, with Dr. Faeq Alrimawi @ul the lead investigator of the project, "Above & Beyond: Engineering Kindness into Software" Register bit.ly/37Dqt3s

With the fab W4 today @mountmercycork Today we were looking at #kindcomputing. We did through through #AI Some of the comments that he girls made was, Fun, Learned new things, Enjoyed the experience, eye opening, stimulating, cool. @LeroCentre @Oide_CompSci

Will definitely be tuning into this discussion on a new computing paradigm #KindComputing proposed by Dr Faeq Alrimawi and Prof @BNuseibeh that "explicitly incorporates kindness into the development and use of digital technology." Registration ➡️bit.ly/37Dqt3s

Very surprised TY girls today @SMCArklow They looked in-depth at algorithms which is just #Code and are created by people and people have biases which are mimicked through the development of code when creating #AI systems @LeroCentre @Google #KindComputing is important
