Q&A: need to bear in mind that using these services is a risk and you need to do due diligence, especially if the third-party service is a startup, in terms of how early on in their startup journey they are. Worth checking to see if they've secured funding. ~@eddr, #LDNWebPerf
Drawbacks: - Complexity - seek to minimise the number of tools. - Lack of config management for different environments; most tools don't support it. - Can get costly, but can always re-engineer it later. - Hard to control personal data (GDPR compliance). ~@eddr, #LDNWebPerf
Conclusion: - Amazing time to be building business/products without having to reinvent the wheel. - Role of product manager / CTO is changing. - Selecting the right tools can be really hard. (NB; everything worth its salt has a free tier). ~@eddr, #LDNWebPerf
Other tools Tiney are using: Typeform for beautiful, mobile-friendly forms. Pipedrive CRM system, automations with zapier and Mailchimp. Contentful: headless CMS.. StitchData + Google BigQuery; connect any number of data sources, analytics + insights. ~@eddr, #LDNWebPerf
Things like zapier.com let you hook up lots of services. Rise of 'point + click' integrations, 'no code' development tools. Infrastructure has already shifted; now have the ability to use serverless code. ~@eddr, #LDNWebPerf
Lots of equivalents: Marketing system = Unbounce Marketing tags = Google Tag Manager AB testing = Optimizely Email marketing platform = Mailchimp Referral system = Mention Me Amazon SQS and Boodoo APIs & webhooks let you do so much today. ~@eddr, #LDNWebPerf

Nori is an interactive CLI operation which prompts you for the arguments to run across multiple repositories, e.g. updating Node version across hundreds of repositories. Currently still requires a human to review the PRs, but could look into AI! ~@uxtremist, #LDNWebPerf
Tako is a single source of truth, so long as we keep it up to date. We use GitHub topics for organising our repos with Tako (github.com/topics) To filter repos based on, for example, presence of smoke tests, we have Ebi: github.com/Financial-Time… ~@uxtremist, #LDNWebPerf
