Unpopular opinion of the day: Requiring reading logs documenting how many minutes or pages young people read is more about compliance and exerting control than "motivating" readers or "proving" any reading occurred.



A good place to start: help them reflect and share on the things they did experience since school was out. Not only did they learn a lot, but it will tell you ‘where they are’ to give you building foundation. #pbl #learndeepmke
