#manpageblog search results
It doesn’t occur often, but when it does, it brings a smile to my face. This is my error page served from the proxy when the backend can't process the requests (or is unavailable). #manpageblog #devops #nginx #proxy #backend #linux #freebsd #tux #beastie
My blog engine #manpageblog looks also quite good in the #Morph browser running on #UbuntuTouch (for smartphones). #Ubuntu #Linux #Android #NoAndroid #UBPorts
I finally added pagination support to #manpageblog. manpageblog is a very small static blog engine in a manpage design. And guess what, I'm moving back to it very soon :) github.com/gyptazy/manpag…
I just released #manpageblog in version 1.4. Added: * Link tag for RSS Fixed: * Replaced commonmark lib (deprecated) * Changed font * CSS cleanups Thanks to @iefdev & @thefossguy for their contributions! See also: github.com/gyptazy/manpag…
#manpageblog 1.3 has been released! Changelog: * Add meta keyword support * Add tag support * Add robot support * Add blue/grey theme * Fixed rendering issue gyptazy.ch/blog/manpagebl… #blogengine #python #devops #blogsoftware #software #coding #dev
Thank you all for your input. I'll keep it that way. Within the community I already got some pages and infos where people adopted #manpageblog. Especially the latest plugin issues w/ #wordpress made some ppl think about switching from WP to sth. else…
yeah right, but I guess the frontend will only be more or less included in #manpageblog (manpageblog.org) which is probably pretty fine for the targeted user base :)
I like that approach very much! It reminds me of my one, but with FreeBSD and was pretty much the reason why I created #manpageblog (manpageblog.org).
So I’ve been running on #manpageblog for a longer time, now. What do you think about it (right), should I keep it or switch back to a modern one (left) which I used before?
Puh, I'm unsure to keep the bloated Wordpress with the really cool theme or just get back to a minimal static blog in man page layout managed in git. I think for my kind of content no fancy design and images are needed, especially by the targeted users.
#manpageblog just got released in version 1.4 manpageblog.org/blog/manpagebl…
And there is now a FreeBSD port of #manpageblog. Let me know if you want anything changed ...
It uses my #manpageblog engine. You can find it and the source here: github.com/gyptazy/manpag… also my personal site uses it.
Stay on your own blog engine! #Manpageblog is really awesome, sexy and fast. Do not care about other especially not when they are not your targeted audience.
Thanks for sharing your input 👍 I really like the approach to use git in that way, that’s also how I use it in combination with #manpageblog ✌️
Both are easy, but there was a time where I really wanted to get rid of WP - that was the time when I developed and created #manpageblog. And it does its job perfectly fine but sometimes I like to have a more modern solution… :)
So somewhere here in X or Fediverse you can find my whole history :D In the DC they are running: - Auth Primary & Secondary name server (not just resolver) - NTP server (2x) - Webserver for #manpageblog & gyptazy.ch At home it runs a #Tor (#torproject) server.

Imagine #manpageblog running on #ARM64 and #RISCV.
Howto build & run #Proxmox on #ARM64 based hardware architecture. Especially after #Broadcom dropped the free #ESXi, switching to a new software and hardware, scaling with many cores, may become handy for a new #virtualization target. #aarch64 #container gyptazy.ch/howtos/howto-r…

That's how #manpageblog was born!
It’s insane to see how few resources it requires to run an own instance for the #Fediverse. Less than 200MB for the whole instance including the OS (#FreeBSD). You can also clearly see when people are active and awake based on the CPU metrics. Everything is highly optimized!

#manpageblog comes with an optional dark mode (theming support) & multi blog support (run multiple instances just by different config files). Initial release of version 1.0 is scheduled for tomorrow (2023-11-11).

Ok, this being said a few days ago, I just started to create the project #manpageblog which is a simple and static blog generator in a manpage design - written in Python. Perfect for #DevOps #Developers #Devs and everyone else who can live with static sites.
One of my first websites for my blog in the absolut easiest possible way. Style: man page layout (including optional dark mode) Tech: first iteration was in PHP, second one was fully in Python Everything was just "styled" in html <pre> block. Easy, very fast, no unneeded css,…
