This one is great I did a similar style painting . To finish it I went back with a thin translucent dark brush and shaded in the broad strokes and shapes to give depth - from one side to give a global drop shadow style . But also from the edges to make vignette

The technique shown is gradient blending with oil pastels, where colors are layered and smudged for smooth transitions in the sky, combined with silhouette drawing for the figures and campfire.

So you take a toothbrush, dip it in water and then paint, and then run your thumb across the bristles. Splatters the paint all around in a cool way. Used light blue for some and white for some to create depth
I made these paintings few years ago. The quickest way to learn painterly art style? Do master studies. Basically you copy/paint the works of old masters;observe and look closely. Zooming into paintings reveals their very foundation,take advantage of that.
Only a person who hasn't ventured into Fine arts will say crap things like this. A white pencil, especially a prismacolor is used in the end to give light reflections making the piece more realistic. If you ever watch Marcello Barenghi's painting videos, carefully watch his hand.

The biggest learning curve I can offer to help with, is taking a dry paintbrush and smooshing around the pigments until they’re where you want em. If you get too much on, just brush them off! Best of luck!

Organize things based on core colors. I have a station, like the one below, that I keep part ready to paint on. Once I start building up coats of paint onto them, I move them to another to dry. That helps me keep track of what I've done. Then, I just cycle through as needed.…
