So it is one of my first times posting on reddit. I posted on the programming subreddit and chaos ensued. Did not expect these reactions. reddit.com/r/programming/…
How would you work on other software for clients, while the one you are ought to work on for the company is not even complete or error-free. No prd, no nothing, just passing incomplete code for us to finish, in a tight deadline of a week. Bro. I feel so angry, I might quit soon.
How to fix it; 1️⃣Build weekly projects 2️⃣Rewrite concepts in your own words 3️⃣Teach what you learn
2. Janky garbage coding practices like colors being represented by strings, and doing raw string manipulation for modifying colors (not inherent to the language, just a good example of a garbage common practice) 3. Type syntax is really obtuse and unreadable
haha yeah true, coding brain kinda just rewires u. tools can help but u need some logic or everything just falls apart. vibes alone ain't fixing those error msgs 😂
Often when I face this it is usually data-related(inputted or fetched) that's the issue. Not code-related. Very easy to blame new changes when code breaks.
this excerpt feels very refreshing to read, because i’ve been there. errors bubbling up is hellish. depending on the size of your project, you could waste an undue amount of time just trying to figure out what part of your API is broken.
dave.cheney.net/2016/04/27/don… an amazing blog by @davecheney on how to ‘handle’ errors in Go.
i was feeling bad about my codes so I went outside for a run and realised my code isn't the only thing that can't run 🥲💔
I think it's a little more complex than this. I think there are 3 aspects which are a problem in the programming landscape: * Sadomasochism in keeping poor tooling * Autistic behaviour of over abstraction due to "mathematical" thinking * A lack of an actual engineering mindset
My thesis: The theory and practice of programming is permeated with the sensibilities of high-functioning autistics like myself. De-nerding programming will unlock great benefits for all of humanity. We too will benefit, for despite our hubris we are also way over our heads.

Dear JavaScript, I know you're capable of great things, but why do you make me feel like a toddler trying to build a castle out of spaghetti? #programmingwoes #sarcasticdev
Coding is like a magic trick: you spend hours making everything disappear, then it's gone forever! #ProgrammingWoes #GoneWithTheCode
One common mistake I see most of the developers do when they start is - They code for the current requirement. They miss out on thinking if we can re-use the same piece of code if a similar component is needed somewhere else. Whenever it’s needed, they simply copy-paste the…

I've been struggling with JavaScript's transient nature and if I don't get a grip on it soon, I might just give up on #techtwitter or #techlinkedin altogether. #programmingwoes #javascriptproblems
