Our last day of checkout was Friday. Before we shelve all the returns-it’s time to clean! #PWCSLibraries
One small space at a time comes together in the back-to-school rush. I’m really thrilled with our air plant wall!!! #PWCSLibraries
Status cups are getting an upgrade! Just a little bit of modge podge with an ice cream there. #PWCSLibraries
Another small space finished! Lazy susans with removable supplies so I can put out only what is needed. Labeled tables to facilitate organized seating. I used symbols from popular nonfiction topics. #PWCSLibraries
My pumpkin wins for most boring. But we’ll give it another year and see what happens! #PWCSLibraries.
Our new Blind Date with a Book display was made with help from our Book Club! 💕 #UnityReeders #PWCSLibraries
I’ve got the documents ready for our summer Design the Sign challenge! Each day, designs by students will be displayed on our exterior electronic sign. #SudleyFamily #PWCSLibraries.
Thank you for the log @BristowRunReads !! My beetles will be glad for a different flavor. #PWCSLibraries
I’m kind of obsessed with checking our number of overdue books. Today Ohio was returned! We were so excited to see it back. You do not want to be a library without Ohio books! #PWCSLibraries #librarytwitter
Our #freecomicbookday giveaway was a HUGE success! Panther students enjoyed their choice of a free comic book from our selection. They continue to ask us about it, so we'd love to partner with a local comic store next year to reach even more readers. #wearepotomac #PWCSlibraries
Every day we lament how boring our library pumpkin is. I’ve decided it needs a positive influence so I’m sending it to learn how to rot in Kindergarten. #PWCSLibraries
I really want a tray of kinetic sand for a “design a fairy garden” center. But…. sand, theft, sand, and more sand! So, if you need an idea and are not intimidated by sand and theft, I’ll throw it into the universe! #PWCSLibraries
In our final unit, first grade read three versions of octopus escape stories and then wrote their own. A few writers were very inspired by the available octopus stickers. “Dave” is cracking me up! #PWCSLibraries
Planning my spring 🐝 unit and made a book recommendation to @Novel_Effect! It would be great to have Kaia and the Bees by Maribeth Boelts, illustrated by Angela Dominguez, in their collection. #PWCSLibraries
Today we started one of my favorite collaborative units! Working with our 8th grade math/science students to use @scratch to code @makeymakey as pressure sensors and transportation signs. (There will be robots and a city roadway later!) #PWCSLibraries

Each year for over a decade I've assembled my own library planner and had it bound at Office Depot. If you need a free one to customize, here's my Canva template for the upcoming year! #PWCSLibraries canva.com/design/DAFHD3i…

As we enter testing season, our students slowly revealed the hidden picture in our collaborative sticker poster from @byStickTogether! When asked what the final image was, we told students to take a step back for a different perspective. #PWCSLibraries #wearepotomac #potomachs

Our Tower Garden strawberries have red fruit! Paintbrush pollination is a success! The hollyhocks also really love the space. @PWCSNutrition #PWCSLibraries
We finished out our week with Maker Time with Mr. B's class. We love ending our week on this high note. Today we made some jewelry out of beads. We even colored some of our own beads. As always, we enjoyed seeing the creativity our friends displayed. #PWCSLibraries
May the 4th be with you! And may you read lots of books! Read, it’s our only hope. Love my @ALALibrary socks! #PWCSLibraries
We finished up our 2+ week unit with 6th grade science on computer sci. The students were so excited to create their final projects, stories, in @scratch . We saw some impressive work! We could not have done this unit without collaborating with @kennydeMonster #PWCSLibraries

Next week local librarians are visiting Hive 8051 to get a tour at Bull Run Library. We can't wait to see this new makerspace and all the resources available to our students and families! @PrinceWmLibrary #PWCSLibraries #VAASL

For #nationalibraryweek we hosted daily literacy and library trivia questions for our students! They loved estimating how many books were in the library (15,402)! We had 265 total entries, plus daily winners, and a grand prize winner. #PWCSlibraries #wearepotomac #panthersread
So much is happening in our little organization this month! We start off with a book club on the 12th discussing Odder from @kaaauthor. RSVP if you haven't. We will meet at the local @TTopTav. #PWCSLibraries #VAASL
My HS #bookclub completed a fun #sayitinsix writing exercise where we had to summarize the plot of a book in 6 words, then illustrate it like an instantgram post. The final step was to write a six word bio. One student said they loved how reflective Book Club was. #PWCSLibraries
