Summing up scoring efficiency in one simple number is a significant element of basketball discourse. For years, it was done via “Field Goal Percentage”. FG% is NOT the most useful (in fact, it can be super misleading) efficiency metric. Let’s talk about FG%, eFG%, & TS%…🧵
Most teams ONLY have one or two ways to score. We score through vertical football, set-pieces, crosses, counters, dribbling quick one-touch football, overlapping centrebacks, long range shots and more. I guess it's hard to follow when literally anyone can score in this team.

#FM22 tip. Stop judging your creative players by their Assist numbers. Instead look at their number of Chances Created. That's how many times they played a pass which created a shooting opportunity of more than 0.15 xG. It's not the creator's fault if the strikers don't finish!
How about each time the ball goes in the opposition's net you get one "point" and then at the end of the game whoever has the most points wins... 😎
