Watching a fabulous #SPNHC2023 presentation by Meghann Toner @smithsonian Department of Botany about tracking down historic and outstanding loans. I can't resist attempting to track down the person she hasn't been able to find. Hopefully the email I've just sent will help.

Listening to @BarbaraThiers at #SPNHC2023 & absolutely adoring her comment regarding natural history collections. "What if we thought of ourselves as stewards of a national resource that belongs to everyone". I would go further & extend this "... an international resource"! 🙌

Catching up on #SPNHC2023 videos & love this quote about scientific expedition data. Nelson Rios states this "involved producing a list of all the research vessels that we could get our hands on, and that was just doing a search on #Wikipedia". Then queried datasets with list.

It's so nice to be home but I'm still not quite in sync as I'm attending the @idigbio #DigitalData conference virtually - 4am starts! Missed you at #Spnhc2023 but looking forward to seeing you at #TDWG2023 (assuming I get funding to go!)
